In collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Arts and recreation we celebrated the belated day of an African Child that was running under the theme “Eliminating Harmful Practices affecting children: Progress on Policy and Practice since 2013.”
The Day of the African Child has been celebrated on June 16 every year since 1991, when it was first initiated by the OAU Organization of African Unity.
We had in attendance the students from the surrounding urban high and secondary schools, representatives from the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Ministry of women affairs, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Department of Social welfare and the Junior Council.
Every Child has the right to be protected from maltreatment, neglect, abuse or degradation.
