ENMT brought its motto, “Information is a key catalyst for development,” to life by hosting a two-day Basic Library Management Training! ENMT firmly believes that empowering our community with knowledge is the crucial step towards growth.

A total of 35 participants attended the training, including Secondary Teacher-Librarians from Buvuma, Bethel, Sitezi, Mzimuni, and Sibona Secondary Schools who are the pioneers of the secondary book box program along with the Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council, and the inspiring winners of the Community Reading Initiatives: Nkomwa Trust and Enqameni Youth Reflection Centre.

The primary goal of this training was to equip participants with essential library management skills before the official handover of books. During the two-day program, ENMT delivered key modules, including:

-Basic Library Management

-Proper Book Handling

-Using Books to Enhance the Curriculum

-Reading Promotion

-Child Safeguarding

-Resource Mobilisation

-Effective Monitoring and Evaluation

ENMT handed over 500 books each to the five Book Box pioneering secondary schools, ZNFPC, Nkomwa Foundation Trust, and Enqameni Youth Reflection Centre

Furthermore, demonstrating our commitment to the girl child, these five pioneering secondary schools also received reusable sanitary pads and toiletries. This additional support is designed to help ensure their continuous attendance and dignified participation in education.

Through this training and vital resource distribution, we are confident that these institutions will be further strengthened, ensuring that information is not just available, but actively utilized to foster literacy, support education, and catalyze the development we strive for.
